Many consumers want to use their market power to reward and punish big companies based on the companies’ greenhouse gas emissions. To do that, the consumers need to link brands to companies and know the companies’ emissions. The Stakeholder Takeover Project is working to provide that information. This app is a proof-of-concept.
The ten largest processed food makers hide behind 362 brands. This app enables consumers to choose products based on comparisons of the companies’ emissions. Enter one of those 362 brands, and the app (1) identifies the company, (2) tells you their emissions, and (3) shows you where the company ranks among the ten. The differences in emissions are huge!
